This is a live workshop held at The Clinical Pilates Studio, Eastbourne.

A practical workshop exploring the physiology of breath and how it can be used to calm as well as energise the body. Breath is often the last movement pattern that we explore but for well being it is the most important. In the session you will have the opportunity to learn how to use breath as a relaxation tool to manage stress. Then mindfully we will incorporate our breath work into fluid movement patterns. We will practice different types of breathing methods and discuss when its appropriate to use them.

We will explore:

  • Our breath

  • Breathing techniques to help anxiety & overwhelm

  • How to use your breath & positions to calm your nervous system

  • Movement & breath

  • Deep relaxation

Please note: This workshop is suitable for anyone, however it is mat based so you must be able to get on/ off the floor independently. if you have had recent surgery, been diagnosed with a lung condition or are pregnant please contact Mary first before booking your place.

Equipment you need to bring: Mat, blanket, warm layers for relaxation and water.
