The upper quadrant
This workshop covers the relationship between the neck, shoulder & thoracic cage and how their anatomy & function influence each other.
We will start with a recap on the functional anatomy of this region to understand how these structures are connected and how common pathologies like shoulder impingement, thoracic outlet syndrome, & frozen shoulder can effect their function.
Mary will teach a combination of myofascial releasing techniques and modified Pilates exercises to re balance the upper quadrant . We will also look at gleno/humeral mechanics, scapula setting, cervical stabilisation, thoracic mobilisation as well as incorporating global movement patterns.
This is the perfect follow up to Mary’s Hypermobility workshop allowing you to develop an approach to managing upper quadrant dysfunction in hypermobile clients.
The outcome of the session will be the development of assessment tools and exercise ideas to use on clients with upper quadrant imbalances.
Duration: 3 hours
The workshop will be recorded and available to view for 1 month.
