Reconnect to your Pelvic Floor CPD Teacher Training
This is an essential training course for any Pilates & Yoga teacher who teaches Women.
Enhance your knowledge of the Pelvic Floor and its function, learn why it is important to adapt exercise to help women maintain a healthy functioning pelvic floor throughout their lives.
Mary incorporates her clinical experience she gained as a senior NHS Physiotherapist in Women's health combined with Pilates & Yoga to help you develop a deeper understanding of the female pelvic floor and its dysfunctions.
During this workshop we will review the anatomy of the female pelvis and examine how common gynaecological surgery , the impact of child birth and hormonal changes during a women’s life can all effect this group of muscles.
We will then explore the fascial connections of the lower quadrant, the diaphragm and breath and how their function is relevant to addressing pelvic floor dysfunction in clients.
The outcome of this course will be a deeper understanding of how an holistic approach is required when addressing pelvic floor dysfunction as well as equipping you with exercise tools you can use with clients.
The workshop is delivered by a combination of live zoom and pre recorded study sessions accompanied with a course booklet.

The live zoom element is spread over 4 sessions 12th, 13th, 19th, 20th October 2024 at 4.30pm - 6pm (BST) (compulsory attendance to all 4 live sessions is required by the student).
On 100% completion of the course you will receive 10 CIMSPA CPD points
Course outline
Session 1 - Functional anatomy - Pelvic floor awareness, Pelvic positioning & activation, the Pelvic belt
Session 2 - Pathologies - Prolapse, Incontinence, Pelvic pain, Hypermobile pelvis, Bladder training.
Session 3 - The emotional pelvis - Fluidity & fascial release, hormones and the menstrual cycle. Bladder & bowel habits.
Session 4 - Stability vs mobility - Finding stability, dynamic movement patterns.
Duration: Live element consists of 6 hours, plus additional 14 hours prerecorded videos & PDF’s to download.
The pre recorded material will be available to view for one year from the start date.
