In this workshop Mary shares her 25 + years of clinical experience as a Physiotherapist & Pilates Teacher to help you gain a deeper understanding of common spinal pathologies; prolapsed disc, stenosis, osteoarthritis and others.

Mary explains how these individual pathologies can present and how pain from these conditions can have an effect on a clients movements patterns, breath and daily function.

You will then have the opportunity to practice & discuss what exercises you should use to restore movement patterns and fascial function that you can use with clients suffering from these conditions.

The outcome of this course is that the Teacher will have a deeper understanding of common spinal conditions and gain improved skills of how to help their clients manage their condition with Clinical Pilates.

The workshop is delivered by a combination of live zoom and pre recorded study sessions.

The live zoom element is spread over 2 sessions on 16th, 17th ,23rd & 24th November at 4.30pm - 6pm (BST) (compulsory attendance to both live sessions is required by the student).

Course outline

  • Session 1 - Functional spinal anatomy - pre assessment movements

  • Session 2 - Pathologies - Stenosis, Osteoarthritis, Osteoporosis, Prolapse disc, Spondylitis, Spodylolithesis.

  • Session 3 - Stabilising movements

  • Session 4 - Functional movement - Finding stability, dynamic movement patterns.


Duration: Live element consists of 6 hours, plus additional prerecorded videos & PDF’s to download.

The pre recorded material will be available to view for one year from the start date.


Duration: 6 hours live online + home study

The course online content will be available to view for 12 months from the start of the course.
