Reconnect to your Pelvic Floor Teacher Training course

An online CPD course aimed at Teachers of Movement (Level 3 and above) & Allied Health Professionals with an interest in Women’s Health.

The course consists of 4 x 90 minute of live zoom sessions plus pre recorded material spread over 4 weeks. The course is also supported by a course booklet. The student is required to attend all live sessions in person.

Course content:

Week 1 - Anatomy of the pelvis & beyond.

  • Pelvic anatomy

  • How to locate & activate the pelvic floor

  • The CAN analogy - fascial connections between the diaphragm, trunk & pelvic floor

  • Breathwork

  • Pelvic Belt

  • The Movement Teachers role

Live session & discussion

  • Exploring the breath & its relevance to pelvic floor function

  • Foot to pelvic connections - Pelvic belt

  • Releasing tension in the diaphragms

  • Use of props - Franklin balls, over ball

Week 2 - Pathologies

Pre recorded material

  • Incontinence - Stress, Urge/ Urgency, Mixed,

  • Prolapse - Anterior, Posterior, Uterine & stages

  • Pelvic & Pudendal nerve pain

  • The hypermobile pelvis

  • Bladder training

Live session & discussion

  • Restoring bounce - Fluid dynamic movements

  • Activation in different Postural sets - Semi supine, 4 point kneeling, Cobbler, Sitting, Standing.

  • Gluteal & Hip rotators  - Static standing, One leg stand, Weight transference

Week 3 - The Emotional pelvis

  • Physical & emotional holding - how to release with movement

  • Hormonal transitions - the female cycles and how they affect our function

  • Toilet habits

Live session & discussion

  • Combining our knowledge into a class

  • Releasing with breath work & balls

  • Dynamic movement patterns using the breath

Week 4 - Stability vs Mobility

Pre recorded material

  • Finding stability not rigidity

  • Stability exercises

  • Fluidity exercises

  • Functional sequence

Live sessions & discussions

  • 60 minute class practicing course content

  • Discussions on content/ recap material

At the end of the course there will be a quiz to allow the student to reflect on their understanding of the course content and an attendance certification will be awarded.

The student will have access to the pre recorded material for one year after the start of the course.
